Short answer
copyfomo is a Telegram bot, launched on August 26, 2026, that copies token trades of traders from the public fomo leaderboard on Robinhood Chain, Base, BNB Chain and Solana, for a stated 2% fee per trade. CopyHype is an app inside Telegram that copies the best Hyperliquid perps traders, listed from Hyperliquid's leaderboard by profit, and the best prediction traders, from $5 a trade at 0.1% each way, with free practice money first. Choose copyfomo to follow fomo token traders, CopyHype to copy Hyperliquid perps whales.
People searching for a copy trading bot in Telegram often come across both copyfomo and CopyHype. The names are close, and both copy traders automatically from Telegram. The main difference is simple: they copy different traders.
We make CopyHype, so we are not neutral. Every copyfomo fact below comes from copyfomo's own docs, its site, its own pull request to DefiLlama, or DefiLlama's dashboard, all checked on October 17, 2026. The links are at the end. If something has changed, copyfomo's docs are the reference.
What does each one copy?
copyfomo copies token trades from the public fomo leaderboard. CopyHype copies the best Hyperliquid perps and prediction traders. You can also trade perps and bet on predictions yourself.
| Item | copyfomo | CopyHype |
|---|---|---|
| Traders you copy | Traders on the public fomo leaderboard | Top Hyperliquid traders by profit or ROI over 24h, 7 days and 30 days, on Perps and Predictions |
| Chains for copying | Robinhood Chain, Base, BNB Chain, Solana | Hyperliquid |
| Markets | Token buys and sells | ⚡ Perps: up or down, with a multiplier, copied or solo. Predictions from $10 |
| Interface | Telegram bot (@copyfomo_bot) | Mini App inside Telegram, opened from @copyhypefamilybot |
| Launched | August 26, 2026 | October 2026 |
| Practice money | Not mentioned in its docs | $1,000 of practice money on live prices, for 24 hours |
copyfomo's docs say it is an independent product built on top of the public fomo leaderboard, not affiliated with fomo. CopyHype is likewise not affiliated with Hyperliquid.
If the traders you want to follow are on fomo, CopyHype is not the tool for that today. If you want to copy Hyperliquid perps whales, long or short with a multiplier, copyfomo is not built for that.
How does each one handle custody?
Both say they are non-custodial: you hold a wallet whose key you can export, and the service cannot withdraw.
- copyfomo: its docs say you get an EVM address and a Solana address, can export the private key from /settings, and that copyfomo never sees that key. Its homepage says you grant a trading allowance from your own wallet, can revoke it, and that copyfomo cannot withdraw.
- CopyHype: real money sits in your own USDC wallet created with Privy. Only you can withdraw or export the key. CopyHype's trading key can open and close trades and never withdraw.
How do sizing and exits compare?
copyfomo gives more knobs, CopyHype gives fewer, preset ones. copyfomo lets you size as a share of the trader's buy and stack take profit rungs. CopyHype keeps one amount per trade, an optional take profit and stop loss, and Let it ride for winning perps trades.
| Item | copyfomo (per its docs) | CopyHype |
|---|---|---|
| Size per copy | A fixed amount (default $50) or 1% to 100% of the trader's buy, with a max per trade | One amount per trade, settable per whale |
| Minimum per copy | $3 | $5 a perps trade, $10 a prediction bet |
| Exits | Sells mirrored, up to 3 take profit rungs, stop loss at -25%, -50%, -80% or custom. Both off by default | Exits and partial exits mirrored, Stop loss (-30% or -50%), Take profit (+25%, +50% or +100%). Both off by default |
| Chasing | "Max chase" setting: 10%, 25%, 50%, custom or off | Built in: a copy is skipped after a 2% move in the whale's direction |
| Other entry filters | Minimum trader buy to follow (default $20), market cap band, cooldown, max impact | The whale's multiplier, raised only to meet Hyperliquid's $10 order minimum, never above x50 |
| Pause | "Pause all" stops all copying | Pause or stop per whale, plus Pause all and Stop all |
copyfomo's percentage sizing and take profit ladder are things CopyHype does not offer. CopyHype's practice mode and fixed no-chasing rule are things copyfomo's docs do not describe in the same way.
How do fees compare?
copyfomo states a 2% fee on each trade. CopyHype charges 0.1% of the position each way on Hyperliquid perps. Venue and network fees come on top for both, and the two tools trade different markets.
- copyfomo: its pull request to DefiLlama says "Fee rate: 2% of the trade, unchanged since launch", and describes fees as the 2% service fee plus the gas billed back to traders. Its docs say withdrawals carry no copyfomo fee beyond the route's own cost, with a $1 minimum in USDC.
- CopyHype: 0.1% of the position when you open and when you close, plus Hyperliquid's own fee. 10% off with a friend's link. Practice is free.
On a $20 copy at x5, a $100 position, that is 20 cents to CopyHype for the round trip. A $20 token buy at copyfomo's stated 2% is 40 cents on the way in. Different markets, so compare the total cost of the trades you actually want to make.
What do referral and the $COPY token offer?
Both pay referrers. Only copyfomo has a token, $COPY, with holder cashback and a buyback.
- copyfomo: per its docs, referrers earn 15% of what their invitees pay, and invitees get 10% off trading fees. Holding $COPY in your copyfomo wallet earns a share of copyfomo's revenue back every 6 hours, starting at 30% and stepping down by season, doubled if you traded in the last 30 days. A comment on its DefiLlama pull request says the $COPY buyback and burn and the holder cashback are funded by the creator fees of the $COPY token.
- CopyHype: referrers earn 15% to 35% of CopyHype's fees on friends' real money trades, plus 5% and 3% on the next two levels. Friends get 10% off. There is no token.
How big is copyfomo so far?
On DefiLlama's dashboard on October 17, 2026, copyfomo showed $4.84 million of cumulative volume and $252,726 of cumulative fees. Over the previous 30 days, it showed $3.45 million of volume, $170,578 of fees and $146,384 of revenue. These are DefiLlama's figures, not ours.
CopyHype does not publish volume or user results yet. We will not quote numbers we cannot back.
How are traders chosen?
copyfomo shows the fomo leaderboard, ranked on realized profit. CopyHype mirrors Hyperliquid's leaderboard: the top perps traders by profit or ROI over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days.
- copyfomo: its homepage says the leaderboard is ranked on realised PnL. Its docs describe it as the most followed wallets on fomo, with 24h, 7d and 30d PnL.
- CopyHype: lists the top 8 perps traders by profit over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days on Hyperliquid's leaderboard, among those who traded in the last 24 hours. Prediction traders have no Hyperliquid leaderboard, so CopyHype adds up their public bets after fees. Any other wallet is one paste away. See how whales are picked.
Which should I choose?
Pick by the traders you want to follow, then by the controls you want. The table covers the common cases.
| If you want to | Choose |
|---|---|
| Copy traders you follow on fomo | copyfomo |
| Copy on Robinhood Chain, Base or BNB Chain | copyfomo |
| Size copies as a percentage of the trader's buy | copyfomo |
| Copy the top Hyperliquid perps whales by profit or ROI over 24h, 7 days and 30 days | CopyHype |
| Bet up or down with a multiplier, from $5 a trade | CopyHype |
| Practice with free money before using real money | CopyHype |
Where is each one stronger?
copyfomo is stronger on breadth of EVM chains and on fine-grained settings. CopyHype is stronger on Hyperliquid perps, whales listed straight from Hyperliquid's leaderboard, and practice before real money.
copyfomo's strengths, from its docs and site:
- Four chains for copying, and deposits from several more networks.
- Flexible sizing, as a fixed amount or a share of the trader's buy, with a cap.
- Detailed exits, with up to three take profit rungs and a stop that moves to breakeven after a take profit.
- A token program with holder cashback, for people who want that.
CopyHype's strengths:
- Perps, made simple. Up or down, the whale's multiplier, isolated margin on every trade so your amount is the most you can lose.
- Let it ride. A winning perps trade can pay for a second trade without selling and without new cash, with the honest catch that the first trade gets riskier.
- Predictions too. Copy the best prediction traders on Hyperliquid's outcome markets, or join one of their bets, from $10.
- Whales straight from the leaderboard. The top 8 by profit over 24 hours, 7 days and 30 days, among those who traded in the last 24 hours, and any other trader one search away.
- Practice money with live prices and the same trading fees, so you can test a trader before paying for the lesson.
- Fewer decisions. An amount, a take profit and a stop loss instead of a page of settings.
What should I check in either one?
Custody, round trip cost, partial exits, max loss per trade, how traders were chosen and whether their style can be copied. The same questions apply to any copy tool.
- Who can withdraw? In both cases, you, from your own wallet, per each service's docs.
- What does a round trip cost? Add the tool's fee, the venue fee and the network fee.
- What happens when the trader sells part? You want the same share sold.
- What is the most a trade can lose? Your amount.
- How were the traders on the list chosen? Profit alone favors luck.
- Does the trader's style suit copying? Traders who flip in seconds are hard to copy with any tool.
Can I use both?
Yes. They do not conflict. Each has its own wallet and its own bot. If you use both, keep track of your total exposure, since each tool only sees its own trades.
